Vintage ENIAC computing Nixie tube clock from Bad Dog Designs
ENIAC from Bad Dog Designs. ENIAC (E lectronic N umeric I ndicator A nd C hronometer) A subtle blend of the old and the new. Externally the clock is styled on the early pioneering electronic computers of the late 1940's but internally uses the latest in microcontrollers and clock design. ENIAC features 6 hand made RZ568M Nixie tubes from Dalibor Farny and Swiss designed electronics from Ian Sparkes working as a collaboration with myself. Built to exacting standards, all metal construction with every component either CNC or Laser cut. One of the main advances in Nixie Clock design with ENIAC is that there is a small OLED screen hidden on the front panel. Prior to this, the Nixie tubes were used to read off parameters and settings against a list of written instructions. You now can see everything in plain English and make easy adjustments straight await without having to step through lots of numeric menus on the tubes. For Accuracy ENIAC compares 3 clock sources - GPS, then NTP over the www and an internal Real Time Clock, so it will always show the correct time. 6 Digit RZ568M Nixie tube clock, with additional 2 X GN-4 Slave display and 6 BlinkenLight Status indicators. Direct Drive tube electronics, addressable LED backlighting with many modes of operation. Easy setup via integral OLED screen and rotary encoder for basic clock options. Further options then available via Web interface. GPS Accuracy as standard with additional time acquisition methods. All metal construction, precision made components all hand assembled in the UK. Measures 525mm x 200mm x 200mm (21" x 8" x 8) and weighs 5.6Kg (13 lbs). This item is in the category "Sound & Vision\Vintage Sound & Vision\Vintage Parts & Accessories\Valves & Vacuum Tubes".
