Unique retro style nixie clock. With single large Z566M tube and blue. Nixie tubes once very popular were superseded by modern LCD and LED display and are no longer produced. They were often used in calculators, measuring devices or first computers between 1950's and 1970's. One major advantage of the nixie tube is that it's cathodes are typographically designed, shaped for legibility. Unlike modern displays, nixie's each digit is individually shaped resembling handwriting numerals. Nowadays due to nixie tubes rarity and charming glow they are readily used to build unique clocks which. Nixie clock displays time in HH:MM format on single large Z566M nixie tube. Time is displayed one digit after the other i. Time 12:34 is showed by displaying digits 1, 2, 3, 4. Tens and unities of hours and minutes are pointed by orange indicators. Connection of vintage nixie display with modern electronics constitutes this original and intriguing timepiece. Tube is new and comes from old stock (so called NOS).

Red coating has been removed for better LED backlight visibility. Offered clock is assembled with the use of new, high quality parts and tested. Clock's case is made from wood.

Stained to alder color painted with transparent lacquer for semi glossy finish and laser cut and engraved black acrylic top plate. Case can be stained to other colors shown below. Selectable 24 or 12 hours time format. Alarm (automatically turns off after 1min).

Uses accurate DS3231 Real Time Clock module with battery backup. Simple time, alarm and menu setting using only two buttons.

Optional automatic brightness adjust (by ambient light sensor). Optional timed blanking of tubes, backlight and indicators (from 00 to 06). Optional crossfade effect (digits morph from old to new). Auto increase of adjusted value after holding button for 1s (for quick setting). Seconds can be reset to zero to precisely set the time.
